What's new or updated on Alwanza?
The calendar page, and the statistics page have a new IP address.  Saying that Verizon botched up my account several times would be an understatement.  I am paying dearly for my lousy connection (please excuse the disconnects) and looking into alternatives.  Verizon agents also supplied me with 2 different feedback addresses, neither of which work, so I will be posting the entire story of my difficulties with them on this site.

On a happier note, we are finally all moved into the new house and almost totally unpacked.  My foot/ankle/heal is improving enough so that I actually took a few short walks for pleasure this weekend.  I think I'll still need the surgery but in the meantime I'm in a lot less pain.

What hi-tech projects am I working on?
I'm making progress with my volunteer work for BFREE.  Now that my life is more stable again I need to recontact them to ask them for more material.  Patt is still doing the Web updates for Resource Maximizer and it has been a great relief for me that I could rely on her to do them.

Work is going well.  I pushed myself to get an amazing amount of work done last week and I keep hoping that I'll have some time to learn a couple of new utilities that I should know.  Hasn't happened yet, but they tell me things will slow down at some point.

They've given me a few scripting projects, which I'm enjoying.

What else is going on in my life?
Last weekend Tom and I went van camping on Whidbey Island and Port Townsend.  It was our first camping trip since July.  Moving ate up all our "spare" time and we didn't get to enjoy that beautiful hot end of summer as much as we would have liked.  We are hoping to make up for lost time.

Any nature observances of interest?
We saw one or two stray winter birds on our camping trip.  We think they'll probably start showing up in numbers in 3 weeks.  The fall colors are beautiful and we are enjoying planting our new garden.

I put up our birdfeeder and noted that the sunflower shells are starting to fall split at the bottom, but the birds are still shy and I haven't seen them feeding yet.
