What's the Big News?
Tom is in pain, recovering from his surgery.  I'm doing my Java homework and trying to help him as well as I can.

The addendum to the previous blog entry is that after the Motherboard died on my home PC, the Motherboard blew up (probably a capacitor) on my PC at work.  It was somewhat of a fortunate catastrophe; we had 40 days left on our 3 year warranty for labor and parts.

I visited my family in NYC and NJ towards the end of April.  It was unsatisfying.  I did not get to visit with anyone as much as I would have liked.

What's new or updated on Alwanza?
The May colors are new.  I might be adding another recipe (Gluten-Free Parsley Table Salad) to my recipe collection.  Other than that, I've had other priorities.

What hi-tech projects am I working on?
I finally handed over BFREE Belize to another Web Developer.  Realistically, I never had time to do what I wanted to do with it.  Over the last 3 years every time I thought I would be able to do some work on it, something more important came up in my life, and it just wasn't fair to them.

I'm starting to feel major burn-out at work.  My work load has been unmanagable the last several months (since November).  We've gotten 10 new employees in the last month.  Six employees who have never used tunnels before are now using laptops and tunnels and wireless cards and dial-up with minimal instruction from me because I just don't have any time to teach them (I'm still configuring more hardware and going through email from December).  So of course, they are having difficulties and phoning me to fix it remotely.  Some of what they are doing might be damaging to their laptops, or might be a security risk; but they don't know that.  At our company it is nobody's job to teach this stuff.  I would welcome the opportunity to give them instruction, but it is not in my job description and I'm overloaded with work.  It has been frustrating to fix problems related to stuff they should know before being given expensive equipment.

I STILL haven't done anything about my ISP and Majordomo major headaches with SeattleLinuxChix.  I need to call tech support but I need to have some time when I can do it.  That hasn't happened yet.

What else is going on in my life?
Concentrating on passing Java.

When Tom has recovered enough to ride his bicycle again, he'll again be practicing for the STP.  He bought a new bicycle and customized his gears.  It has improved his speed by 2 miles per hour and he no longer hurts his knees.  Tom is brilliant to figure all this stuff out.

Any nature observances of interest?
The hummingbird feeder has seen Anna's female and male and Rufous female and male.  The male Rufous is the most frequent visitor.  Tom renovated our greenhouse and I just started our sunflowers and pumpkins from seed.  Last year I started them a month earlier and had pumpkins in July.

I bought 5 tomato plants.  It would be nice to get some homegrown tomatoes this year.  I also planted some Armenian cucumber seed.  I guess we'll see if anything sprouts!
