Font size increased using pixel measurements are mathematically incremental.
The increase is the same regardless of starting size.
Font size increased using point measurements are proportionally incremental.
The increase is greater when the starting size is larger.
On Windows PC
For IE, "normal" text is 16 pixels or 12 points
The smallest sizes that work are:
10 pixels (and 10 pixels bold)
(however, 10 pixels bold increases font leading but not weight)
8 points (and 8 points bold)
For Netscape "normal" text is 16 pixels or 12 points
The smallest sizes that work are:
10 pixels (and 10 pixels bold)
(however, 10 pixels bold increases font leading but not weight)
8 points (and 8 points bold)
(however, 8 points bold increases font leading but not weight)
On Linux
For Netscape "normal" text is 14 pixels or 12 points
Note that points are smaller in Linux Netscape than on Windows
Font size in points appear smoother than font size in pixels
The smallest sizes that work are:
12 pixels (and 12 pixels bold) or
10 points (and 10 points bold)
