What's the Big News?
It's official:  I'm starting to regain my athletic body.  I never stopped to consider that my physical progress might follow the exact same pattern as my dyslexic learning process:  slower than average to start (four damn months), but once I'm beyond the initial starter's threshold, it's like I'm on super boosters.

I'm now doing a jog for half my walk, including a real running sprint at the end.  Each day I look forward to the run.  Not only does it feel great but I'm also amazing myself daily with how much progress I'm making.  My feet aren't hurting, either anymore.  My feet used to hurt the morning after a run.

My digestion has improved considerably.  I think it's the exercise but I've also added celery to my diet and I'm being more careful about drinking more water.  My burping condition has almost disappeared.

Nothing I've had other priorities (see below).

What hi-tech projects am I working on?
Oh, I may be doing something stupid....  Or it may just be compulsive....  I signed up to retake Java 143 at North Seattle Communitiy College.  A teacher that I think would be a better teacher for me is teaching it this quarter.

I guess I want to keep my options open.  I think I still might want to enroll towards my CS degree at UW Bothell.  Meantime, I know I want to take RedHat certification; but that can wait till Summer or beyond.  Wish me luck.

Turns out my hang-up with Sendmail and Majordomo is my ISP.  Apparently they are blocking outgoing mail from a domain that isn't theirs and they are also blocking access to me using Speakeasy as my "smart host".  At least I know what the problem is now.  I've just got to figure out what I can do about it.

What else is going on in my life?
Taxes.  For the next several days and maybe weeks I'll be reconciling months of old bank statements so I can complete our taxes.

At work, I'm running into some hardware-software compatibility issues with our Dell server and RedHat 9.0.  We purchased support along with the unit and I phoned today for support and found out that Dell refuses to support RedHat 9.0 compatibility issues for this server.  Somehow it got on the order that I was going to install RedHat Enterprise and so Dell says that whatever problems we are having are due to us using "legacy" software.  That's Dell for you.

We've decided to fix this by uninstalling RedHat 9.0 and installing RedHat Enterprise, which we already own.  This way Dell will not have any excuse not to honor their service contract.  The server is going to be installed in a remote office in Alaska, so it seems the safest way to go, although it means the delivery of the server will be delayed.

Any nature observances of interest?
The spring viburnum has been blooming and now the first azalea is showing yellow buds.  Out back in the shade garden, the bleeding heart has started blooming, the periwinkle has been blooming for some time, and the naked rhodie (rhododendron desquamosa) is budding purple.

We're still seeing birds at the feeders but it is certain that the birds are finding plenty of other wild food around.  Our grass is in severe need of mowing but every weekend it has rained heavily.
