Current Projects

What's the Big News?
Gas is up to $4.50 per gallon.

I've been focusing on my health.  Tom and I spent a wonderful weekend in Wenatchee.  We stayed at a hotel with a swimming pool that is both indoor and outdoor.  We hiked Ohme Gardens.  We biked the river loop.  It was hot and dry and I finally stopped sneezing.

I've been under Chiropractic care again.  Dr. Krey is a good cruncher.  The adjustments are helping my musculo-skeletal pains, and my digestion.  It is a good start.

Seattle has been unusually hot.  It is up to 85 degrees today and has been around that for almost a week.

Our garden hoses are working but we need to get them on the timer.  The rose garden has gone crazy.

I've gotten rid of the last two sumacs, although I still see starts coming up.  No time to weed!

At work, my lead is leaving.  Next week I'll be attending Windows Exchange Server Sys Admin classes (grumble, grumble, grumble).

What's new or updated on Alwanza?
I posted one of my Sys Admin scripts:  rpm_backup.  This is a script to use before doing updates with yum or up2date on RedHatEnterprise.

What hi-tech projects am I working on?
I've written about a dozen perl scripts to make administering the Linux workstations and servers easier.  I'll be posting more soon.  I'm learning the (unnecessary) greater complexities of Active Directory.

What else is going on in my life?
I'm in the early process of a project I can't mention till it's complete.  It is taking up a lot of my time.

Any nature observances of interest?
It is all happening so fast.  The baby ducks are adolescents now.  The rivers are running high.

Nuthatches have been splashing in our fountain.

This year there was a one week break between the two distinct allergens:  tree pollen and grass pollen.  Now we are into the grass pollen.
